LEAH & SIMON

We were six years old, sitting side by side in class. Simon would nudge Leah and say, “Can I have some of your snacks?” and Leah would roll her eyes before sliding half her sandwich onto his desk. From sharing food to playing tag after school, we quickly became best friends — until we went to different schools and lost touch.

Years later, during college orientation, Simon spotted Leah in the crowd. He walked up and asked, “Do you remember me?” Leah laughed right away — of course she did. What started as a quick catch-up turned into hours of talking, then weeks of hanging out, until it was clear that this time, we weren’t letting go.
